Brad Pitt will star as United Nations employee Gerry Lane in "World War Z".

After a fierce bidding war with Warner Bros. Pictures and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way, Paramount Pictures and Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment have acquired movie rights to the Max Brooks novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War." Principal actor casting is currently taking place in Los Angeles, with additional casting to happen in the UK.
