Principal photography has now begun on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” films, in New Zealand, and the casting directors will be hiring extras, stand-ins, photo doubles, and size doubles to work throughout filming which will take place over an extended 14 month period.

Under recommendation from New Zealand Actors' Equity, SAG and AFTRA hereby notified all members that they may now accept employment on "The Hobbit," under Screen Actors Guild contract terms and conditions. Casting on the two movies based on J.R.R Tolkien’s “The Hobbit”, has resumed in Los Angeles and New Zealand.
